The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has granted an additional 60-day grace period to all workers registered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the status of "absent from work" before the deadline of December 1, 2024.
The grace period for those absent from work aims to enable professional workers to correct their status in line with the approved systems and regulations, which contributes to enhancing the stability of labor relations.
The Ministry explained that the basic system for the service of absence from work allows the worker in the private sector the possibility of job transfer or final exit within a period of 60 days.
If the worker does not take the necessary measures during this period, his status will be classified as "absent from work". The additional grace period for those absent from work comes to give workers another opportunity to correct their status through job transfer and establish a sound and integrated labor relationship.
The Ministry called on all beneficiaries of this initiative to complete the procedures for correcting the status through the "Qawa" platform before the end of the specified grace period.
It also affirmed its commitment to implementing the systems and regulations that contribute to enhancing the stability of the labor market and achieving economic development in the Kingdom.
