Zakat and Tax Authority Announces Deadline for Submission of Zakat and Income Tax Returns for Foreign Entities

The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority clarified that the deadline for submitting zakat returns for establishments, and income tax returns for foreign entities, is April 29, 2024. This pertains to the fiscal year ending on December 31, 2023.

The Authority explained that this is in accordance with Article 60 of the Income Tax System for Foreign Companies, which mandates the submission of tax returns within 120 days of the end of the tax year represented by the return. Additionally, as per Article 17 of the Executive Regulation of Zakat Collection, taxpayers are required to submit their returns, attachments, and pay zakat using the forms and procedures specified by the Authority within a period not exceeding 120 days from the end of the zakat year. If the end of this period coincides with an official holiday, it extends to the first working day thereafter.

The Authority urged targeted establishments to expedite the submission of their returns for the previous fiscal year by the specified deadline through the official website (zatca.gov.sa). Additionally, the Authority encouraged those seeking further information to contact them via the unified call center number (19993), which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, or through the "Ask Zakat, Tax, and Customs" account on the platform (@Zatca_Care), or via email ([email protected]), or through instant messaging on the Authority's website.
