Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority Calls on Taxpayers to Benefit from the Initiative of Waiving Penalties and Exemption from Financial Sanctions

The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority called on all taxpayers subject to tax regulations to expedite benefiting from the initiative of "Waiving Penalties and Exemption from Financial Sanctions", which ends on June 30, 2024.

The authority clarified that the initiative includes exempting taxpayers from penalties for late registration in all tax systems, late payment, and late submission of declarations in all tax systems. This also includes the correction penalty for value-added tax returns, penalties for violations of field control related to the application of electronic invoicing provisions, and other general provisions of value-added tax.

It added that to benefit from the initiative, the taxpayer must be registered in the tax system, submit all required declarations to the authority, and fully settle the principal tax debt related to the due tax declarations. It's possible to apply for installment payment, provided that the application is submitted during the initiative's period and that all due installments are paid according to the installment plan approved by the authority. The initiative does not cover penalties related to tax evasion violations and penalties paid before the start date of this initiative.

The authority urged taxpayers to take advantage of the extension of the initiative during its specified period, which ends at the end of June, and to contact them for any inquiries about the initiative through the unified contact center number (19993), which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, or through the "Ask Zakat, Tax, and Customs" account on the X platform (@Zatca_Care), or via email ([email protected]), or through instant messaging on the authority's website (zatca.gov.sa).
