Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority Calls for Submission of VAT Declarations for December 2023 and Q4 on Schedule

The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority have urged businesses falling under the Value Added Tax (VAT) bracket with annual supplies exceeding 40 million Saudi Riyals to submit their tax declarations for December of the previous year and the fourth quarter of 2023 by the deadline of January 31.

The authority has emphasized the importance of prompt submission through its official website (zatca.gov.sa) or via the ZATCA mobile application to avoid penalties for late filing. Penalties range from a minimum of 5% to a maximum of 25% of the declared tax value.

Businesses in the concerned sector seeking additional information regarding VAT are encouraged to contact the authority through the unified call center at 19993, operational 24/7, or engage with the "Ask Zakat, Tax, and Customs" platform on (@Zatca_Care) X. Communication is also possible through email ([email protected]) or real-time chats on the authority's website (zatca.gov.sa).

VAT is a prevailing indirect tax system in the Kingdom, levied on all goods and services, excluding certain exemptions, bought and sold by entities.
