Within the framework of the activities of the Annual Budget Forum 2024, His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Engineer Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al Rajhi, extended congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to His Highness the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, on the occasion of Issuance of the state’s general budget for the fiscal year 2024.

His Excellency the Minister explained, during his participation today, Thursday, December 7, 2023, in the dialogue session on “The Budget within the Framework of Services Development” within the activities of the 2024 Budget Forum, that the issuance of the State’s general budget for 2024, and the numbers and indicators it carries, confirm the State’s orientation in supporting opportunities for growth, sustainability, and financial stability to achieve Objectives of Vision 2030, noting that leadership support led to the development of more services provided to citizens and residents.

During the session, His Excellency discussed the Ministry’s most prominent achievements during the year 2023 AD, including the increase in the number of Saudis working in the private sector from (1.7) million to (2.3) million this year, including (361) thousand who had never entered the labor market, and the increase in Women's participation in the labor market increased from 17% to 35.3%, exceeding the vision target set at (30%), stressing that the Ministry is working to implement the directives of His Highness the Crown Prince to raise the target of women's participation in the labor market to 40% during the coming period.

During the session, His Excellency touched on the successes achieved in qualitative localization, which contributed to the increase in the participation rate of Saudis in engineering professions from (40,000) to (70,000), and accounting professions from (42,000) to (103,000, in addition to empowering more than (100) thousand. Young men and women in 2023, and transforming their families from families needing support to productive families.

Minister Al-Rajhi confirmed the decrease in beneficiary visits to branches by 74% from (53) thousand to (13,700) thousand visits per month, and the increase in automated services from (284) services to 1,000 digital services, representing 80% of the total services and targeting (300) new services in 2024, explaining that the total amount spent in 2023 on social security programs, the citizen’s account, and comprehensive rehabilitation for persons with disabilities amounted to 86 billion riyals.

To create 172 thousand jobs, target 6 vital sectors, launch and activate the national skills strategy, launch the proactive communication service for beneficiaries before visiting the branch, and the virtual branch service to serve them in their homes, in addition to the number of non-profit sector organizations by 30% to reach 5,000 organizations, and the growth of cooperative societies to become 467, and increasing the size of its economic contribution to 2.3 billion riyals, and more than 16 thousand jobs.
