The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority has called on all taxpayers subject to tax regulations to take advantage of the "Penalty Cancellation and Financial Penalties Exemption" initiative, ending on June 30, 2024.
The initiative includes waiving penalties for late registration, late payment, and late filing in all tax systems. It also covers the correction penalty for value-added tax declarations and penalties for field inspection violations related to electronic invoicing and other general provisions for value-added tax.
To benefit from the initiative, taxpayers must be registered in the tax system, submit all required declarations to the authority, and fully settle the original tax debt related to due tax declarations. They can request installment plans, provided the application is submitted during the initiative's period, with a commitment to pay all installments according to the approved plan. The initiative excludes penalties related to tax evasion violations and those paid before its effective date.
The authority encourages taxpayers to review details through the simplified guide available on its website, explaining the extension decision, penalty types, exemption conditions, financial obligation installment steps, and field inspection violations covered by the initiative, accompanied by illustrative examples.
Taxpayers are urged to take advantage of the initiative extension until the end of June and contact the authority for any inquiries through the unified call center (19993), the "Ask Zakat, Tax, and Customs" account on the X platform (@Zatca_Care), email ([email protected]), or instant messaging on the authority's website (zatca.gov.sa).
