The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announced the entry into force of the Labor System Edits starting tomorrow, Wednesday, Shaaban 20, 1446 AH, corresponding to February 19, 2025 AD.
These Edits aim to enhance job stability and raise the efficiency of the labor market to meet the needs of the private sector, within the framework of the ongoing efforts to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
Scope of the Edits: The Edits include amending 38 articles of the Labor System, deleting 7 articles, and adding two new articles.
Objectives: The Edits aim to develop contractual relations between the parties to the work, guarantee their rights, and create a more attractive and stable work environment, in line with the labor market strategy.
Council of Ministers: Last August, the Council of Ministers approved amending several articles of the Labor System, including grievance procedures for the worker, resignation, expansion of the chapter on leave, and contracts.
Executive Regulations: The executive regulations and other relevant regulations will be issued in conjunction with the entry into force of the Edits tomorrow, according to the Cabinet decision.
Improving the labor market: These Edits will contribute to creating an attractive and distinctive labor market through the best international practices and creating more job opportunities for citizens and workers.
Reducing disputes: The Edits help reduce job turnover and reduce labor disputes and disagreements.
Enhancing development: The Edits help enhance opportunities for devotion to development and creativity, preserving the rights of both parties to the contractual relationship, and developing human cadres.
Attracting investment: The Edits will also enhance the encouragement of foreign investment and attract the competencies needed by the labor market.
The Edits to the Labor Law will come into force from Wednesday, Shaaban 20, 1446 AH, and February 19, 2025 AD, following Cabinet Resolution No. 117 ratifying the Edits and Royal Decree No. 44 announced on 2/8/1446 AH.
The Ministry of Human Resources confirmed that there are Edits to the labor system to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, by issuing a special executive regulation with the implementation of the Edits starting tomorrow. These Edits aim to increase job opportunities for citizens and support the private sector in driving economic growth in the Kingdom.
