Official working hours in Ramadan 2025 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia according to the Saudi Labor Law

In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, official working hours during the holy month of Ramadan are of particular importance, as they are reduced in line with the nature of this blessed month. The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has specified the official working hours during Ramadan for both the public and private sectors, by the Saudi Labor Law.

Working Hours in the Public Sector

Official working hours in the public sector start from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, which is an average of five hours per day. This reduction in working hours takes into account the conditions of fasting and worship and gives employees enough time to rest and spend some time with their families.

Working Hours in the Private Sector

In the private sector, the Labor Law stipulates a reduction in working hours for Muslim employees during Ramadan, so that they do not exceed six hours per day or 36 hours per week. Working hours in the private sector are determined by the nature of each establishment and the conditions of its employees.

The Importance of Reducing Working Hours in Ramadan

The reduction of working hours during Ramadan is one of the initiatives that aim to alleviate the burden on employees during this holy month and enable them to combine the performance of their work and worship duties to the fullest. This reduction also helps to maintain the productivity of employees and avoid fatigue that may result from working long hours while fasting.

Tips for Employees During Ramadan

Time management: Employees should organize their time well during Ramadan, and take advantage of the available working hours to complete the required tasks.

Adequate rest: It is recommended to get enough sleep and rest, and avoid staying up late and fatigue.

Healthy nutrition: Attention should be paid to eating healthy and balanced meals during Ramadan, and avoiding heavy and fatty foods.

Taking advantage of free time: Free time can be used for reading, reciting the Qur'an, praying, and spending some time with family and friends.

Official working hours in Ramadan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are a model of balance between the requirements of work and personal life, where working hours are reduced in line with the nature of this holy month, and take into account the conditions and needs of employees.
