As part of its initiative to facilitate tax payment procedures and alleviate financial burdens on taxpayers, the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority has introduced easy steps for the installment of tax dues during the initiative period exempting from penalties. These steps come in the context of the ongoing efforts exerted by the authority to enhance communication with taxpayers and provide a conducive environment for achieving tax settlements.
Tax Dues Installment Steps:
1- Submission of Installment Request:
Taxpayers wishing to install their tax dues must first submit an official installment request to the relevant authority. This request can be made through the official channels specified by the authority, whether through the website or by personal visit to the local tax office.
2- Review of Request by Specialized Teams:
After the request is submitted, the specialized team at the authority reviews and carefully studies it. At this stage, verification of the provided information and its compliance with the specified installment criteria and conditions is conducted.
3- Approval of Installment Plan:
Upon approval of the installment request, an appropriate installment plan is adopted, including the amount due, the installment period, and any special terms or conditions. Taxpayers must adhere to the plan's conditions and make payments according to the specified timeline.
The authority further stated that compliance with the installment plan exempts taxpayers from the embedded penalties, even if they occur after the initiative period ends. In case of plan cancellation due to non-compliance, all penalties will be calculated on the total original tax amount.
