The work system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia constitutes a legal framework aimed at achieving a balance between the rights of employers and employees, ensuring the provision of a work environment that enhances productivity and well-being. Article 17 is one of the fundamental pillars in this system, obligating employers to take necessary measures to ensure the provision of a transparent and organized workplace.


In this context, we will review in this article the mandatory details under Article 17, related to record-keeping, schedules, and the placement of timetables in the workplace. We will shed light on the importance of these controls in enhancing work effectiveness and ensuring the rights and well-being of employees.


Text of Article 17 of the Saudi Labor System:

The employer must keep at the workplace the records, sheets, and files that specify their nature, and the data that must be included according to the regulations.

He must prominently display a schedule at the workplace indicating working hours, break periods, the weekly day off, and the starting and ending times of each shift in the case of shift work.
