In recent years, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has witnessed notable developments in the labor sector. Among these developments, the "Qiwa" platform launched a new service aimed at organizing the internal environment of establishments through its electronic platform. So, why is this service important and what types of labor regulations are available in it?
The labor regulations service aims to create a safe and effective work environment by organizing the internal environment of the establishments. Establishments have two options for adopting labor regulations: the model regulation and the customized regulation.
Model Regulation: This regulation is the faster and simpler option, allowing the employer to issue and immediately adopt the labor regulation by the ministry. Establishments have the right to make minor modifications to it, such as the number of vacation days, the calendar used, and workdays.
Customized Regulation: This regulation is the more specialized option, where clauses and conditions specific to each establishment are added. This regulation requires preparation and review by accredited law firms, then it is adopted by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.
It's worth noting that all establishments are obliged to issue a labor regulation. In the absence of an approved regulation, the establishment may be fined by the ministry.
This step comes as part of ongoing efforts to improve the work environment in the Kingdom and raise awareness among employers and workers, and to encourage effective and safe practices in the private sector.
