Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development Updates Regulations for Domestic Workers and those in their judgment

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has made updates to the regulations governing domestic workers and those under their jurisdiction. This is part of the ministry's ongoing efforts to review labor market regulations and enhance the quality of the domestic labor recruitment sector. It aligns with the ministry's strategy for the labor market aimed at improving the contractual relationship between workers and employers and safeguarding contractual rights for all parties involved. The goal is to increase the attractiveness and flexibility of the labor market in the Kingdom.

These updates clarify the contractual relationship, facilitate the contracting process, and provide a mechanism for dispute resolution between the parties involved to ensure each party's rights. The updates also include definitions, provisions, and guidelines, in addition to considering domestic employers' and workers' rights and responsibilities.

It is worth noting that the regulations were previously published for public feedback before being officially adopted by the ministry. These measures are part of the ministry's efforts to protect the rights of both parties involved (employers and workers) and to enhance the efficiency and attractiveness of the Saudi labor market. This includes launching wage protection programs, initiatives to improve contractual relationships, and a friendly program for resolving labor disputes.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development invites everyone to review the regulations by visiting the official ministry website, as the regulations will come into effect one year from the date of issuance.

We are pleased to be part of your success
